Younger people with dementia is a term that anyone diagnosed with dementia under the age of 65. People also use the terms’early onset dementia ‘, ‘young onset dementia’, or ‘working age dementia ‘.
The symtoms of dementia may be similar whatever a person’s age , but younger people may have different needs, and their problems often require a different approach.
We have specialist units that deal with this and have dedicated qualified staff and experienced carers 24hrs a day. Staffing levels are higher to cover the extra care required.
A full assessment will be done by the Matron or General Manager RGN prior to admission to ensure all the care needs can be met.
